So… back to last weekend… we had a bumper crowd at Tonville as we entertained a strong Topsham seconds out fit and I’m sure before the game, they felt confident given the side they had but they came unstuck and we played some extremely good rugby to put 45 points on them and we also did that with no reply for them and the “nil” score line was for the second week running.

Great to see everyone enjoying them selves both on and off the field and I personally enjoyed hearing some of the big cheers for big defensive hits as well as some of the tries. All in all, a really good win against a much sterner opposition.

Unfortunately the twos came unstuck down at their places and fielding a much stronger side than the one that came up to Honiton four weeks back, we basically got a bit of a kicking going down by rather a lot to not many. Just a blip me thinks.

Sunday was a bit disappointing for our Junior section as near neighbours Chard decided to call all their home games off because of the weather… yes it rained but our pitches were playable and they are only 13 miles over the hill… bit odd and frustrating for lots of our boys and girls. The home games went ahead and we won most of them which is good. The 14’s cup game also got called off. I know James Vince was pulling his hair out trying to sort everything but if teams don’t want to play us not sure what more we can do.

Ok… on to this week it’s a biggy on Saturday as we are away to run away leaders in the league at the moment. It’s Torquay and it’s also down at their place. I know we have a few key players missing but we do have some strength in depth this season so let’s hope we can show them that. I’m not going to give you a kick off time as I seem to get it wrong each week. It either 2.30 or 3pm. Get there for 2.30 and if it’s 3pm you’ve got time for a cheeky beer.
