For the 3rd year in a row the Dimonds donned their tour shirts and headed off on a weekend of adventure
This year was a return to Cornwall for a triway fixture with Bodmin and Bude
Surviving the Friday night frolics the tour committee supplied a hearty breakfast before the commute across the moor and Fantastic weather and a warm welcome form hosts Bodmin RFC.
Honiton took part in all three matches, winning the first with some 15 man rugby, narrowingly missing out on the second and four of the boys making up the numbers for Bodmin in the final match.
The winning continued in the clubhouse with the Dimonds, disturbingly downing the boat race, even with the barmans own special recipe and further games for the three teams ensured proper tour etiquette was followed.
Saturday nights entertainment was provided by Kenny the Badger, the northern cabaret artist and the Smith family, plus a little dab of bingo, with parents and players a-like managing to let their hair down.
With no rugby planned for Sunday there was time to blow the cobwebs out on the beach with a game rounders, a quick dip for a few and some fizz and cakes for those on Mother’s Day duties, before the traditional Kangaroo Court could take centre stage.
‘What goes on tour stays on tour’ I hear you ask.
Let’s just say offenses had been noted, foul drinks downed, and a selection of snacks digested.
Great fun for players and parents before the boys had their much needed disinfecting in the pool prior to departing .
A big thank you to all who made the tour happen
