Under 10s
We got to play Tivy at last after the last 4 games being off. It brought back some memories after visiting Tivy last when I was 17 winning a 7s tournament!
Not knowing what to expect, it was good to see a team warming up properly with some very big boys that would give us a test.
For the 1st 1/4 it was a test that could of gone either way as Honiton had a few call off sick this morning and 2 boys in the warm didn’t feel well. A big physical Tivy hurt a few of Honiton players who would of put lots of teams off
But it woke Honiton up and they took the challenge to them turning over plenty of ball in the rucks that Tivy couldn’t live with and then moving the ball to their wingers to run in plenty of tries
The game carried on in this manner and Honiton really took pride of not letting Tivy score tries. Every child did Honiton proud with digging deep and giving 100% and relying on everything they have had drilled into at training so far this season. Rucking, moving the ball and giving everything to protect our try line
A different challenge to anything we have encountered this season that will only make us stronger. A fair ref but he was playing under 16 rules and ignoring plenty of Tivy knock ons. Even with this Honiton managed to concede 2 silly tries and score 12
